AUG 8–9, 2026 — DAY 1 ANALYSIS →
First Start & Baseline ECU Import
Imported baseline OBD1 map onto rusEFI uaEFI ECU. First engine start achieved. Engine idled high (~1612 RPM) due to open air bleed routes and initial idle duty tables.
AUG 9–10, 2026 — DAY 2 ANALYSIS →
IACV Idle Hunting & Frequency Diagnosis
Observed severe idle hunting. Idle remained in Open Loop throughout — investigated solenoid frequency and pin-polarity mismatch on the Honda idle air control valve, which was later confirmed inverted via a fan-adder step-response test.
AUG 11, 2026 — DAY 3 ANALYSIS →
Distributor Synchronization & Trigger Offset Correction
Ignition timing was offset. Bracketed trigger offset values and corrected global trigger angle from 80.0° to 268.0° BTDC, aligning digital ECU timing with true TDC on the distributor.
AUG 12–13, 2026 — DAY 4 ANALYSIS →
MLG Binary Format Decoding & Cooling System Bleeding
Successfully decoded high-rate rusEFI MLG log files. Initiated thermal cycles to bleed air pockets from the cooling system. Zero stall events logged.
AUG 13–14, 2026 — DAY 5 ANALYSIS →
IACV Output Polarity Inversion & Battery Voltage Collapse Discovery
Discovered idle_solenoidPinMode was set to inverted. Correcting this to non-inverted immediately allowed PID control to hold target 900 RPM. Uncovered heavy cranking voltage sag down to 5.58V.
AUG 14, 2026 — DAY 6 ANALYSIS →
PCV Vacuum Leak Fix & First Road Test Pulls
Plumbed an inline PCV check valve to cure unmetered manifold vacuum leaks. Completed first street pulls up to 4,246 RPM; calculated estimated peak volumetric efficiency (VE) of 89.4%.
AUG 16–17, 2026 — DAY 7 ANALYSIS →
Thermostat Replacement & Final Validation Run
Replaced sticking mechanical thermostat. Executed a 21.5-minute full cold-start-to-fan-cycle validation run (Log 2026-08-17_19_46_04.mlg). Reached 5,809 RPM with solid 951 ±48 RPM idle stability.
AUG 18, 2026 — DAY 8 ANALYSIS →
Updated Tune Validation (Cold Start)
First on-car test of the pending tune (Mark_LSVTEC_base_map_2.msq). Full cold start through 91.7°C warm idle, plus a clean off-load rev to 5,848 RPM. Cranking voltage sag persists (3 restart attempts, VBatt down to 5.15 V) — confirmed as a hardware issue independent of the tune.
