Day 6 — PCV Fix, Idle Dialed In, First Road Tests
7 logs analyzed · 96 minutes of logged data · 2 stall/restart events detected
Everything converges
Installing a missing PCV valve eliminated the white exhaust smoke that had been misread earlier as a rich condition (it was oil, not fuel). The idle table reached its best stability yet (±19 RPM), and the car left the driveway for the first time. Drive 2's post-drive stall was traced to a ~0.4% shift in closed-throttle TPS — a real, if intermittent, mechanical finding — while drive 3 completed cleanly with the same TPS band recovering to normal.

06Log-by-Log Breakdown
Session-wide statistics computed across each full log. These pool every idle-qualifying sample in the file, so they run higher than the narrow steady-state windows cited in the final project report — that's expected; this view shows total session variability, not just the best segment.
Coldstart-3.mlgLOW CRANK VOLTAGE 0.0V
PCV valve installed — white smoke resolved. Idle stability reached ±19 RPM, the first genuinely tight result.
w-start-2.mlgLOW CRANK VOLTAGE 5.33V
Full 453s warmup. Fan-on/off discontinuity in idle RPM identified and addressed.
w-start-4.mlgLOW CRANK VOLTAGE 0.0V
Truncated at 47s — TunerStudio went offline mid-session (USB link drop).
C-start-4.mlgLOW CRANK VOLTAGE 9.2V
Heater-on-max idle surge documented and explained (open-loop can't see the load). Cooling holding noticeably better.
test-drive-1.mlg
First road test. Clean, no faults, coolant held under load.
test-drive-2.mlg
Stalled after the drive — closed-throttle TPS was found to have shifted ~0.4%, dropping idle until it died.
test-drive-3.mlgLOW CRANK VOLTAGE 0.0V
27-minute drive, no stall. TPS band recovered to normal; idle held ±19-20 RPM in steady segments.
* On stall/restart counting
Detected algorithmically as RPM dropping below 300 for a sustained period followed by a subsequent rise — a reasonable proxy for restart events, not a precise fault classifier. Treat as directionally accurate, not exact.
